ARRIVAL TIME

Postby Excalibur » Tue Jul 31, 2012 10:04 pm

All,

We have quite a few things going on at this event that need careful preparation prior to the event and as such we are keen to keep early arrival down to an absolute minimum.

On the same note we aren't a bunch of total bastards and although the LAN "officially" starts at 17:00 on Friday, we appreciate many of you have a LONG drive to get here and as such arrivals will be welcomed from 15:00 onwards should you wish to come in and dump your gear and then head out to do shopping, although we cannot promise that the network will be active until 17:00.

Please no arrivals earlier than 3pm though unless its unavoidable due to train/bus/lift times etc.

Thanking you all kindly! :D

myself and emma will be leaving at about midday, its approx 2 - 3 hours trip without stops, and traffic

if we have a good journy, then we will bag ourselfs a spot to sleep in, and try to do a shop, and if were still back before then, if you wish me to help in anyway with cables / tables / taping down names, then i will.

if the journy is terrible see you at 7pm :P

2 hours is at 90 - 100 mph all the way, which isnt possible, its going to be closer to 3pm / 4pm because of stonehenge traffic, not to mention the hour delay of emma :P

ZombieLAN bunch will be departing Chez Kimbie around 8am.

We have a scheduled stop for pancake breakfast around 8:30 and then 205 miles of Britains finest road network to negotiate on a bank holiday Friday.

All going to plan I think we should be there before Christmas depending on the exact number of caravans that need to be rammed off the road.

Reality is we will likely be there around 3ish but if we are early there is a pub up the road and wireless is easy to configure so we might be in there with laptops...

Hey dude,
Its all good. We just want to ensure that people are not under our feet during setup, so strictly no PC setup at desks until we are ready etc. There is a pub a few mins walk down the road should it be needed.

So, the real message is, if you arrive early, do not expect to be able to setup / get online etc. Early arrivals will be asked to put their stuff in the sleeping area until the hall is ready.

Or, in other words.. early arrive = beer absorbtion time only :)

goose its not a proper bank holiday Friday, but it is a Friday before a bank holiday and if the weather is good there is likely to be a lot of traffic.

This time we will be missing the 303 and going along the M4 past Swindon then dropping straight down
Somthing witty to follow....
