CS:GO Tournament

Postby FatLipMurphy » Mon Aug 19, 2019 6:59 pm

Sunday Sunday Sunday!
We're doing a bit of classic Counterstrike: Global Offensive in our primetime slot of 5pm, because who doesn't love getting one-deaged from 50 miles away?
Rules are the same as last time, so here's the exact same post from our Easter event, courtesy of Conor:

WARM UP
Random maps will be on the server 30 minutes prior to the tournament starting to allow players to warm up if they wish.

ROUND 1
All players will take part in a full length "Arms Race" (gun game) round. The map will be ar_baggage.

TEAM SELECTION FOR FINAL
At the end of the qualification game, the top 10 players by score will advance to the final stage. The 2 LOWEST scoring players that qualified, will take it in turns to select players from the remaining pool of 8. Starting factions will be decided via mutual agreement or coin toss. A 15 minute break is permitted to allow teams to form tactics following team selection.

FINAL
The final will be played under competitive tournament conditions (Friendly fire on, no free armour or defuse kit). The scoring will work as best of 30 rounds with max rounds 15 per half (as soon as a team hits 16 wins its all over!). In the event of a draw, the team with the highest total points count will win.
Each team may ban one map from the current Active Duty Map Pool. The map will be selected at random from the remaining maps.

POINTS ALLOCATION
· TAKING PART = 1 POINT
· MAKE THE TOP 10 = 2 POINTS
· WIN THE FINAL = 4 POINTS
N.B. Screenshots of the scores will be taken at the end of the game. Players must be on the SAME TEAM at the end of the game as the start to qualify. Unrecognised usernames will also forfeit their points.
